That is partially understandable as plenty of the movies released under the Dragon Ball banner are very formulaic. Dragon Ball Z is an excellent and iconic manga and anime. The bad thing is that there is filling that sometimes does not interest. It has a lot of epic scenes where you get goosebumps, and it makes me want to see many secondary parts of the anime.
Although, the films haven't always received the same high level of praise that some of the other DB media have. The Dragon Ball Z series was originally animated on 16mm film, at the 4:3 aspect ratio, and thats how it originally aired in the West. Dragon Ball Z is the best anime in my opinion. The Dragon Ball franchise includes a manga series, multiple anime series, countless video games, and of course, many movies.
